MagPro Photo of the Day: Calvary or Golgotha, the Place of Yeshua's Crucifixion The rock formation (not far from the Damascus Gate outside of the Old City, Jerusalem, Israel) looks like a skull, possibly why the name 'Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,' was given it. Some feel that before these rocks was where salvation for the Jew and the Gentile was paid for in full by the Son of God Yeshua HaMashiach.
